macOS Apple Silicon player v0.1.0 (unsigned). Download character-player-0.1.0-macos-arm64.dmg , open it and drag Character Player to Applications. macOS blocks it the first time: open it once, then go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway and confirm (on macOS 14 and earlier, Control-click the app and choose Open). The compiled engine and FoxGlove model and animations are included; no Kaigen installation or licence is required. Run the full harness Install Node.js 23.6 or later and download this tag's Source code (zip) . Extract the source, open Terminal in its root (beside package.json), and run npm ci --omit=dev . Copy .env.example to .env and add your own XAI_API_KEY and ELEVENLABS_API_KEY . Set HARNESS_PLAYER in .env to the installed player: HARNESS_PLAYER = " '/Applications/Character Player.app/Contents/MacOS/'* " Run npm run check -- characters/foxglove , then npm start from the harness root. The runtime opens the player automatically. Allow the microphone when macOS asks and speak first . The player alone does not run the conversation; Node and provider API keys are required.
